About Me

My name’s Merna and I’m a PhD student in Machine Learning at Georgia Tech. I’m interested in research at the intersection of machine learning and healthcare, specifically in learning from limited and multimodal data. I was a Teaching & Research Assistant of Biomedical Engineering at Cairo University before that. I also hold a MSc. degree in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on machine learning for medical imaging.

Outside of academia, I enjoy hiking, drawing, reading, gaming and building Lego sets like the Bonsai Tree set.

Iterative Refinement of Liver Segmentation Across Modalities As Accurate Preprocessing Step For Hepatic Tissue Analysis

Iterative refinement of weak annotations created by MeVisLab to segment the liver from MR images in order to grade liver fibrosis.
